High Season (October 30th - January 1st, 2014 and April 1st - June 30th, 2015): $599-$699/night depending on number of persons

Low Season (January 2nd - March 31st, 2015) $449-$559/night depending on number of persons

At all times, 10% discount for one week; 15% discount for 2 weeks; 20% discount for one month.

Rent is for entire five-story house, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living, dining, kitchen, library, patio, roofdeck. Rent includes once-weekly maid service by owner's housekeeper (linen change and thorough cleaning; more frequent visits can be arranged at renter's expense). Rent also includes basic cable, cable wireless internet (no password necessary), satellite TV, local phone service.

House sleeps 4 adults in 3 entirely separate bedrooms; one has a queen bed, two have twin beds. Rental not advisable for toddlers or infirm persons as there are many stairs.

Located on a picturesque, tree-lined street with almost no traffic (see description at Savoring Leroy Street's Details and Layers of History on Leroy Street). Near wonderful food shops, boutiques, restaurants. Five minutes to West Fourth Street or Houston St. subways, or bike uptown or downtown on West Side Highway bikepath three blocks away.

Floor by floor description of the home:

Street level floor: antique-filled living room with working fireplace. Shabby chic down-filled sofa with brand new leather slipcover and two early 19th century armchairs. Catwalk leads to sunny, planted REAR PATIO with vintage cast iron furniture including swinging couch with thick, comfortable cushions. White picket fence and walls. Eat at glass-topped table, read the morning paper, work outdoors. Tall evergreens in teak planters, climbing vines and flowers surround you.

Down a short flight of spiral teak stairs: slate and teak kitchen and dining room with double height greenhouse roof. Handmade 3" thick teak counters, antique copper sink, Aga stove, Bosch dishwasher., washer, dryer. Rancilio "silvia" espresso machine. 19th century farmhouse dining table with Bertoia chairs seats 10. Heated slate wall by table. Sound system with 500 wpc Cerwin-Vega speakers. This floor is the largest single space in the house, approx. 14 by 30 feet.

Down a half flight from the dining room is the FIRST BEDROOM, which features a wall of 1800s Italian ceramic tile, a slate floor, and two big skylights, one venting onto the patio above. This room has a single bed. Excellent sun in this room even in fall and winter. Approx. 12 by 9 feet.

Second floor: SECOND BEDROOM with working fireplace, custom mahogany bookcases, original wide plank floor, brand new Design Within Reach twin bed with memory foam mattress, newly reupholstered Napoleon III chaise longue. 42” Sharp Aquos HDTV, VCR. Afternoon sun, but not sunny. Approx 14 by 15 feet. Adjoining all-tile blue and white bathroom with rain showerhead, wooden toilet seat, high end fixtures.

Third floor: 2000 volume double height mahogany shelved library with original wide plank floors, another sound system. Master bath with 1800s Neapolitan tiles, 1790 French copper bathtub, extra large rain shower head, heated slate tile floor.

Fourth floor: THIRD BEDROOM with Design Within Reach memory foam queen sized mattress, custom mahogany storage shelves, original wide plank floors, and access to lushly planted roof deck (very sunny even in fall). Two skylights, one 6 feet long. This bedroom is very sunny if you want it to be (it has blackout shades for window and skylights). Approx. 14 by 12 feet.. Roof deck: not large, but lushly planted. Teak boxes of evergreens outline the garden, which includes thriving rose bushes and salad greens. Comfortable chaise longues and vintage metal chair for working or reading in the sun.
